Sony has introduced a new mirrorless camera, the Sony Alpha 5000 or the α5000, a compact  camera that features a 20.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor, Bionz X processor, and built-in Wi-Fi. Sony bills the α5000 as 'the world's lightest interchangeable lens camera' because it weighs 210g (7.4 oz.) without card, battery, or lens. It’s seemed that the a5000 seems a natural extension of the NEX-5 line.

One of the benefits of the latest processor is that low-light shooting should be good, with area-specific noise reduction technologies and sensitivity topping out at ISO 16,000. This camera also equipped with Anti-Motion Blur that automatically corrects for subject movement in order to deliver clean, sharp imagery in low-light conditions.

You can enjoy additional features include NFC for easy Wi-Fi connectivity; a 3" 460K-dot LCD that flips forward for easy self-portraits; a built-in pop-up flash; and a zoom control built into the body to control power zoom lenses.
Fans of Android devices will be pleased to see Near Field Communications connectivity present, allowing automatic Wi-Fi connection setup simply by holding the camera close to your tablet or smartphone, so you can transfer pictures to your device for quick Instagramming of choice shots. If you want, you can share your photos easily to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and other social networks that exist today, as well as other future networks. Take advantage of free Wi-Fi on the Sony Alpha 5000 is any time you need it.

The A5000 can also use Sony PlayMemories Camera Apps, which work similarly to smartphone apps to make adding features to the camera a simple option. There are 16 apps currently available, including an upgraded version of "Time Lapse 2.0," which intelligently and automatically adjusts exposure for changing lighting conditions over of the course of a time lapse sequence. A new free "Sync to Smartphone" app automatically transfers shots to a pre-registered smartphone or tablet each time the camera is switched off.

The new A5000 model has a comfortable new grip and intuitive tiltable LCD screen that can flip upwards up to 180 degrees for easy self-portraits. You also can use Sony Alpha 5000 to make movie or video clip. Full HD 1080i/p video recording is supported at both 60 and 24 fps frame rates to produce high-resolution movies with a smooth, cinematic look. Videos are recorded using the high-quality AVCHD codec and a built-in stereo microphone records sound in the Dolby Digital AC-3 format.

Sony offers 11 different PlayMemories apps in Sony A5000 that work with the camera's various functions, so if you want to make creative pictures, you can use fantastic feature; the camera's "Photo Creativity" mode will help less experienced photographers learn and experiment with creative settings.

Unique to Sony, this mode replaces complex photographic settings with more easily understood phrases like "Background Defocus" and "Brightness," giving users direct access to many common manual settings.  It also offers quick and easy access to Picture Effects, which includes popular modes like Pop Color, Toy Camera, Selective Color, and Miniature Mode. Picture Effect modes allow you to apply creative settings and emphasize certain facets of individual images for a richer, more aesthetic picture quality.

The Sony Alpha A5000 is a small, light and affordable compact system camera that takes the NEX compact system camera range and moves it under the ‘Alpha’ name. Now it looks like all Sony interchangeable lens cameras will be called “Alpha” as well. The Alpha A5000 is an upper entry-level mirrorless camera that's compatible with Sony's range of E-mount lenses. Ranges of E-mount optics for the camera are available, including a new black version of the 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 zoom lens.

The α5000 will be available in March 2014 for $600 or EUR 500 as a kit with a 16-50 mm motorized zoom lens. Its size make it the perfect go-anywhere camera for an impressive price. With all the features and technologies that are pinned on this camera, the Sony Alpha 5000 can be regarded as a DSLR camera in a small and compact body.
